- Spa Assistant Manager

Killaloe is a picturesque tourist town twinned with Ballia on the Tipperary side straddling the River Shannon. Killaloe is well-known for its fishing and boating activities. The hotel is approximately 1.2 km from the centre of Killaloe, and overlooks the Kincora Marina which has direct boating access to Lough Derg / The River Shannon.

The property comprises of a substantial modern hotel having 32 en suite bedrooms, lounge, function room, kitchen, bar, reception, ancillary areas and a spa that is currently under construction. The hotel has a commanding view over Lough Derg to the rear with ample car-parking and gardens to the front. The property has been refurbished throughout and is finished to a very high standard.

The main purpose of the role is to assist in the delivery of hotel revenue and profit growth through good planning, efficient production and cost control, particularly in your area(s) of responsibility and within the Spa Department as a whole.

Ideal candidate:

  • The ideal candidate will have 3 years of Spa experience with at least 2 years in a management role. CIBTAC, ITEC or CIDESCO qualifications are desirable

- Spa Supervisor

The Position

We are looking for a self motivated Spa Supervisor/ Beauty Therapist with proven experience in the Health and Beauty Industry. This is a great opportunity for an experienced beauty/spa therapist wishing to gain reception experience. The successful candidate will assist the Spa Manager in the day to day running of Sionna Spa.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience managing a busy reception in a spa and will also be a trained therapist; will perform treatments as needed as well as managing the spa.

Duties

  • Maintain client database, schedule appointments.
  • Assist the Spa Manager in ensuring the budget requirements and retail sales are adhered to, the emphasis being on profitability.
  • To ensure that the facility is adequately manned at all times. Assist the Spa Manager in coordinating the day to day running of the treatment area. -Ability to interact and understand clients needs and ability to provide unsurpassed customer service.
  • To insure proper induction and training of all therapists is carried out.
  • Carry out beauty and massage treatments for guests.
  • Provide 1st Class Customer Service.
  • Product Sales

Experience/Qualifications

  • Must be a qualified spa/beauty therapist
  • Desirable – 1 years’ experience in a supervisory capacity / similar role
  • Must hold relevant qualifications
  • Must be able to work under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to lead and motivate the team
  • Strong administrative skills

The Role

At the Sionna Spa we want to create a relaxing atmosphere for our guests so they can escape the stresses of everyday life and indulge in the soothing and calming surroundings of our state of the art spa. The successful candidate will play a vital role in creating and achieving this exceptional tranquil haven for our guests.

Duties Will Include:

  • To ensure that a high standard of service is maintained throughout the Spa.
  • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of all treatment rooms, in accordance with the Health and Safety and hygiene legislation.
  • Assist and perform various demonstrations and events.
  • Courtesy to guests and other members of staff at all times.
  • To perform all treatments to the highest standards.
  • To perform as a professional with a friendly attitude and conduct all duties and responsibilities as required by the position or assigned by the Spa Manager

  • Must have previous experience.

- Night Porter

We are currently recruiting a night porter to join our team here at Killaloe Hotel and Spa. Killaloe is a picturesque tourist town in Co. Clare twinned with Ballina on the Tipperary side straddling the River Shannon. Killaloe is well-known for its fishing and boating activities. The hotel is approximately 1.2 km from the centre of Killaloe. The hotel overlooks the Kincora Marina which has direct boating access to Lough Derg / The River Shannon.

The property comprises of a substantial modern hotel having 35 en suite bedrooms, lounge, function room, kitchen, bar, reception, and ancillary areas. The property has a commanding view over Lough Derg to the rear with ample car-parking and gardens to the front. The property has been refurbished throughout and is finished to a very high standard.

Job Description:

As a Night Porter, you will be responsible for the smooth running of the night-time operations of the hotel. You will be mainly responsible for the security of the hotel building and its guests. This position is part-time and will require the employee to work alone during the night.

Key Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Completing security procedures and maintaining responsibility of the security of the hotel building and its guests. Ensuring the safety of the persons and the property of all within the premises.
  • Being fully aware of, and acting in accordance with all fire, health and safety, hygiene, and emergency procedures.
  • Check in of late arrivals and check out of early departures acting in accordance with all front office policies and procedures and working with our property management system.
  • Completion of night audit duties, in addition to conducting regular security checks and night walks.
  • Distributing an efficient handover to early reception team detailing issues, and anything that needs to be followed up on.
  • Undertaking of regular cleaning duties including all public areas and meeting rooms, including daily checks of the outside of the hotel and cleaning as appropriate, ensuring all public areas are kept to the highest standards of maintenance and cleanliness.
  • Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of hotel operations, products, and hotel layout.
  • Reporting of all issues that occur and remaining vigilant at all times.
  • Answering the phone and taking reservations as required.
  • Serving drinks as required.
  • Remaining customer service focused while having a friendly, courteous, and professional manner at all times.
  • Remaining flexible and assisting other departments where required.

The Candidate:

  • Previous experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry is preferred but not essential.
  • Must be available to work between the hours of 23:00 and 07:30 on weekdays and weekends, including public holidays.
  • Competent level of IT skills required.
  • Flexibility to work in various tasks / departments.
  • Ability to work alone or as part of a team.
  • Excellent customer service skills required.
  • Positive and friendly attitude essential.
  • Very good level of written and spoken English is essential for this role.

- Accommodation Manager

Job Description:

As an Accommodation Manager, you will be responsible for the smooth running of the housekeeping department of the hotel. The Accommodation Manager will lead the housekeeping department and ensure that our guests experience the highest quality of cleanliness. You will be mainly responsible for maintaining cleanliness standards of the bedrooms and public areas. This position is full-time and will require the employee to work weekdays and weekends across a variety of shifts.

Key Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Managing the accommodation team, ensuring cleanliness of guest bedrooms in accordance with the standards of Killaloe hotel and Spa.
  • Inspecting rooms are to ensure high standard of cleanliness.
  • Managing the stock of hotel linen and other supplies.
  • Ensuring the linen room, storage room and trolleys are neatly maintained.
  • Removing trays and linen from the room.
  • Following COVID-19 policies and procedures and sanitisation practices.
  • Monitoring the cleanliness of all public areas, cleaning all areas to a high standard
  • Reporting and logging all lost property, and maintenance issues.
  • Providing a daily briefing to team members and allocation of areas.
  • Follows proper safety, hygiene, and sanitation practices.
  • Providing training and instruction to all employees, following standard operating procedures.
  • Liaising with maintenance and the front office departments to ensure all maintenance issues and any special requests are met.
  • Delegate rooms and daily tasks accordingly to team members.

 

The Candidate:

  • Previous experience in a management or supervisory role within the hospitality industry is preferred but not essential.
  • Must be flexible to work a variety of shifts on weekdays and weekends, including public holidays.
  • Excellent leadership skills required.
  • A good team player

- F&B Assistant

As a food and beverage assistant, you will be responsible for the smooth running of O’Brien’s bar and restaurant in the hotel. This position will require the employee to work weekdays and weekends across a variety of shifts. The ideal candidate would possess the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, be flexible, and be sociable and friendly in nature.

Main Duties:

  • Greeting guests in a warm and friendly manner, while seating appropriately.
  • Serving customers food and beverages in a friendly, efficient, and professional manner.
  • Processing various payment methods.
  • Ensuring all stock levels are maintained.
  • Remaining vigilant to COVID-19 policies and procedures such as contact tracing and checking vaccine certificates.
  • Being friendly, courteous, and professional at all times while ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Following proper safety, hygiene, and sanitisation practices.
  • Maintaining cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves, and storage areas, and preparing for service.
  • Setting up, clearing and promptly servicing tables after use to ensure that guests can be seated in a timely manner.
  • Carrying out any additional requests assigned to you by the management team.
  • Demonstrating an up-to-date knowledge of food, beverages, wines, and products.
  • Taking orders promptly and clearly and ensuring correct till operations are adhered to.
  • Daily cleaning duties such as sweeping, hoovering, and moping of floors/cleaning of equipment such as coffee machines/ using glass washers and to carry out extra duties such as deep cleaning as required.
